Morse Code was invented by Samuel Morse in 1837 to send message via the telegraph. The military later adopted this form of communication to pass message back forth to avoid the enemy from deciphering it. Even the computer uses a sophisticated form of Morse Code to encrypt data using private Key and public Key when passing information.

Below is the accent mark that the military uses for Vietnamese characters, and it's also the same style for typing TELEX in most Vietnamese typing software.

     A                   E                      Đ                     O                       U
Ă = AW          =EE               Đ = DD           = OO             Ư = UW
= AA                                                           Ơ = OW
                                                Dấu:

Sắc=S           Huyền=F                Hỏi=R            Ng=X                  Nặng=J

Please be sure they recognize the following whistle blow:

DT= -../ -               TN= -/ -.              DP= -../ .--.
HT= ..../-                AN= .-/-.             NS= -./...

Let the students try these to see what they get:

Regular Morse Code:
-/ ..../ ../ ././.../..-         -./ ..../ ..        ../ ...        -./ ..-/ --/-.../ ./ .-.       .----

They should get: "Thiếu Nhi is Number 1"

Numeric Morse Code:

Key: - = 1
        . = 0
1010/0000/01    1/001/1011/0/0/10      001/1011/000    00/000   1/0000/0    1000/0/000/1

They should get: "Cha Tuyn u is the best."

Mountain Top Morse Code:

Key:  . = ^

- = ^

 ^^^^ /  ^   /   ^          ^^^ / ^^^       ^/ ^^^
^^^^ / ^^^^ / ^^ / ^^^^      ^^^ / ^^^/ ^^^^ / ^^^^ / ^ / ^^^

They should get: "Let go to play soccer."

After this you can practice blowing the whistle or use flashlight/light switch for them to get more practice.

Try this with the light switch or whistle:

.--/ ..../ ../ -.-./ ....        -/ .-./ ..-/ .--/ ---/ .--/ .-./ -./
../ .../       -/..../.     -.../ ./ .../ -/

They should get: "Which Trưởng is the best"

You can of course make them respond to the above question by asking them to write their respond in any of the above types of Morse codes they have learned.
